Cow nose Ray

These fish can be caught at the times of year when the water is the warmest.  End of summer super early fall is best.  Off the surf with small clousers with sink tip lines will work.  They are super powerful, so make sure you use strong gear.  They take a very long time to land too.  Use double nail knot so you do not loose your fly line to backing connection.  Make the weak link near the tippett if it does break off.    These are usually caught while fishing for other species.
