BLUEGILL & Sunfishes

Picture
Southern NJ host large bluegill that are cooperative to hit flies.  Often I will fish for them while I am out for Largemouth Bass.  They provide great topwater action and also will hit smaller subsurface flies.  They provide lots of action.  Sometimes leaders need to be very long and light to trick them into hitting.  They can be very spooky!

Also available are sunfish,  pumpkinseed,  etc.
